Master Chef

What an amazing day for our budding Master Chefs yesterday. Our hall and staffroom were treated to some delectable aromas and cuisine! To all of the Mkids involved you were all absolute stars! We cannot believe the kai that you served up to our judges Mrs Baker & Mrs Akroyd. First place went to Capria & Allie with a tempting tortellini treat and in second place was Meg & Quinn with a delicious dumpling dish! Big pakipaki to all of our MKids involved!

Calendar Art

We were learning how to create a calendar using pastels or zentangles and dye. These ones show the group that used pastel. We are very proud of them. Hope someone buys them:)

We were learning to write using paragraphs. We chose one of the images below and created a story based on the idea in the picture. The images we could choose from were these:

We needed to remind ourselves when we needed a new paragraph, so we used this as a reminder.

Netiquette

We have been learning what Netiquette is. We then created this infographic using Piktochart. 

This is the chart we used to think about how to create a successful infographic.

As part of our Inquiry on Sustainability, our Year 6 Learning Neighbourhood visited the Enviro Center to learn how we could be agents of change to help in the reduction of plastics. We also found out about composting, worm farms, Gizzy Kai Rescue and had a tour of the local shop selling items to help us reduce and reuse. We snuck in a quick trip to the Public Library and Botannical Gardens as well.

Paper Wheel Challenge

We have been starting our Monday mornings off learning about Learner Assets, particularly Collaboration. Today was lots of fun as we created our Paper Wheels. You can read what the challenge was below. We had 25 minutes to build our Paper Wheel in a Collaborative group, then we had a race with the other groups. To finish off we assessed ourselves and each other with our Collaborative skills.
